  When my family moved in last July 2016, we were really happy with Arium Lake Norman. I previously posted a 4 star review later that year and was close to giving 5 stars. The new management was putting a lot of money into the property with replacing all the roofs, painting the buildings, resurfacing the parking lots, new signage, and landscaping. And we were told that the fitness room was soon to be redone, along with a renovation of the tennis court into a dog park and playground for the kids. Sadly, no amenities were ever addressed in the 13 months I resided there. If you plan on touring Arium, take a close look at the amenities. The fitness room equipment is in poor condition. Weights are broken, equipment is old and breaking down. Tiles are falling off the pool without replacement. The playscape is filthy, and surrounding area is unsafe for kids. The tennis court looks like an earthquake hit it. And quite possibly the worst part, you can't even walk on any grassy areas or the sidewalks because there are constantly tons of piles of dog poop everywhere as barely anyone cleans up after their dogs. The bright spots are the apartments are nice, the office staff is friendly, and maintenance is responsive. Unfortunately, the quality of residents has gone way down over the past year, and management seems to only be putting money into those things that attract new residents and nothing spent on amenities or things for current residents.
